Shane and Dena Hayes
Shane Hayes, son of former missionaries Larry and Diana Hayes, always had a burden for foreign missions. After marrying and graduating from Texas Bible College in 1994, Shane and Dena Hayes worked with Tabernaculo de Vida Southwest and Life Tabernacle in Houston and taught in the Spanish Texas Bible College. During that time, they made trips to San Andres Island and felt God’s call to go as missionaries. They were able to go under the AIM program in 2003 and start the first UPCI work in this pioneer field. He started a flourishing prison ministry and formed cell ministries on San Andres. After receiving their missionary appointment in 2004, they returned to San Andres to pastor and evangelize the island until they started deputation in January 2006. Their goal is to start a Bible college in San Andres and pioneer more works in San Andres’s surrounding islands.
